Rinse lettuce in cool water, wrap loosely in a plastic bag, and store in your crisper drawer. Wash thoroughly before using.

 

Preparation

  • Lettuce is most commonly used as the main ingredient in salads, but it’s also very popular as a wrap, especially for those on a gluten-free diet.
  • Lettuce can also be used as an ingredient in soups.

 

Nutrition

Iceberg, leaf lettuce, and Romaine are all fat-free, low in sodium, cholesterol-free and low in calories. Romaine and other leaf lettuces are high in vitamin A are are good sources of folate.

    Grilled romaine is yummy. Cut in half lengthwise. Brush with olive oil or Wegman’s basting oil. Grill 5 min per side. Salt and pepper to taste. Top with Kalamata olives and feta cheese. Enjoy!
